About the Choir

The Astoria Choir works to provide world class choral music experiences to singers and audiences in the community of Astoria, New York.

The choir's story begins in 2010.  Founded by our artistic director, Adam Eggleston, we were just 35 singers known as The Astoria Symphonic Choir, and we worked under the auspices of the Astoria Symphony Orchestra.  We collaborated with the ASO for performances of major works by Beethoven, Bernstein, Brahms, Britten, Handel, Haydn, Lauridsen, Mendelssohn, Mozart,  Poulenc, Vivaldi, and more.  Over our first four years we grew considerably in strength, size, and ability, so much so that in the fall of 2014 we established ourselves as an independent non-profit arts organization known simply as The Astoria Choir.  We are now a warm community of 80 strong singers looking forward to a bright and prosperous future.
The Astoria Choir, or TAC, performs four concerts each season, two of which will be collaborations with orchestras or other professional instrumental ensembles. Singers with varying levels of experience, and from all walks of life, are welcomed to audition for this community-based choir.  Interested singers should send an email to info@astoriachoir.org for more information.   Please join us for a new and exciting opportunity to bring great choral performances to Astoria, Queens!
